چکیده

ies within the twenty-five square degrees area are fainter than that magnitude. (c) The distribution over the plates has been used to examine the nature of the various systematic errors of discovery and measurement. An error arising from plate tilt is intimated; but there is very little suggestion of error from neglected distance correction (figures 1 and 2). (d) The belt at +43?6 crosses the Milky Way twice, and the results obtained are therefore useful in examining the effect, on the distribution of external galaxies, of interstellar space absorption along the Milky Way. Qualitatively the absorption is clearly shown in the last three columns of table 1. This latitude effect and the magnitude-frequency curves will be more closely studied in a following paper. 1 These PROCEEDINGS, 26, 166-176 (1940); Harvard Reprint 194. 2 Seares, Kapteyn and van Rhijn, Mt. Studies on Thiamine Analocues

Several analogues of thiamine’ are known to compete with the vitamin when administered to animals. Thus, Woolley and White (1) have observed that pyrithiamine caused the manifestation of typical thiamine deficiency symptoms, which could be competitively overcome by the vitamin. The antivitamin effect of oxythiamine in mice has been reported by Soodak and Cerecedo (2). Cerecedo et al. (3, 4), co...

بررسی اثر ضد باکتریایی مشتقات جدید تیازول، ایمیدازول و تتراهیدروپیریمیدین بر علیه لیستریا منوسیتوژن

Purpose: In this study, we have focused on antibacterial effect of newly synthesized thiazole, imidazole and tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives in Iran on listeria monocytogenes. Materials and Methods: For evaluation of antibacterial effect, the disk diffusion method was applied to measure the growth inhibition zone diameter and broth micro dilution was performed to determine the minimum inhib...

Characterization of thiI, a new gene involved in thiazole biosynthesis in Salmonella typhimurium.

Thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) is a required cofactor in Salmonella typhimurium that is generated de novo by the condensation of 4-amino-5-hydroxymethyl pyrimidine (HMP) pyrophosphate and 4-methyl-5-(beta-hydroxyethyl)-thiazole (THZ) monophosphate. The THZ and HMP moieties are independently synthesized, and labeling studies have demonstrated probable metabolic precursors to both. We present herei...

Thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) negatively regulates transcription of some thi genes of Salmonella typhimurium.

In Salmonella typhimurium, thiamine is a required nutrient that is synthesized de novo. Labeling studies have demonstrated probable precursors for both the 4-amino-5-hydroxymethyl-2-methylpyrimidine pyrophosphate moiety and the 4-methyl-5-(beta-hydroxyethyl) thiazole monophosphate moiety. The isolation of thiamine auxotrophs with mutations in at least five different genetic loci is reported. Th...

Effect of Sulfur-containing Amino Acids on the Production of Thiamine by Escherichia Coli.

It has now been firmly established by several groups of workers (1-10) that in yeast thiamine is enzymatically synthesized from pyrimidine pyrophosphate and thiazole monophosphate. However, there is little information about the biosynthetic pathways of pyrimidine and thiazole themselves. Thiamine was found as the first natural com pound containing a thiazole ring. Recently, the presence of the ...
